The music department at Abiding Savior has something for everybody! We are blessed with many talented musicians at our church, who are dedicated to providing inspirational and enjoyable music to enhance the worship experience. All of the groups are open to new members at any time, and we have a lot of fun and fellowship as we rehearse. We would love to have you join us! MUSICAL GROUPS ADULT:
AGELESS VOICES (AGELESS stands for "Almighty God Exalted Loves Every Singing Soul") Directed by Gary Peterson, the Ageless Voices welcomes singers of all ages, high school through adult. They practice Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00, and sing for Sunday morning worship most weeks, along with some special services.
GOSPEL SINGERS This group of adult singers meets on Wednesdays from 6:15 – 7:00. They sing for select Sunday morning services and special programs, and often sing for services at the local nursing homes.
REIGNING GRACE (Contemporary Worship Band) This group of adults leads worship at our Contemporary Worship service at 11:00 AM on Sundays. They rehearse at 10:00 Sunday mornings and on Wednesday evenings. If you are a singer, drummer, bass guitarist, keyboardist, guitarist, or have other musical talents you wish to use praising God, please contact Sara Quarberg or Ryan Hurtado.
JUBILATION RINGERS
This handbell choir for high school through adult is directed by Paul Weller. They practice Thursday evenings from 6:15 - 7:30, and provide music for Sunday worship about once a month, as well as holiday services and other special programs.
REFORMATION BRASS This wonderful group of musicians rehearse as needed to provide music for select worship services and holiday services. Craig Mesenbring coordinates and directs the musicians, as well as arranges music as needed for this group.
SPIRIT'S FLAME (Vocal and instrumental group) Adults and youth are part of this band providing music worship at select services. Rehearsal is Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 p.m., Sept.-May, when necessary.
MUSICAL GROUPS CHILDREN AND YOUTH:
CELEBRATION RINGERS (Handbell Choir) All kids from grades 3-12 are invited to learn and play handbells with Paul Weller in the Celebration Ringers. They meet on Wednesdays from 5:00 - 6:00, and play for worship several times a year. If there are enough kids interested, this group may be split into two groups of different levels.
KING'S MESSENGERS (Vocal Choir) The youngest vocal choir, this group welcomes children from preschool - 2nd grade (whenever the parents feel their child is ready to attend). They meet on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 - 6:00, directed by Lisa Schlotterback.
WWJD CHOIR (Vocal Choir) This group is made of kids in grades 3 - 5, directed by Lisa Schlotterback. They meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 - 7:00, and sing for worship several times during the year.
YOUTH CHOIR (Vocal Choir) The Youth Choir meets on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour, from 10:05 - 10:55, and sings for worship several times throughout the year. It consists of kids who are confirmation age and older, middle school and high school, and is directed by Lisa Schlotterback.
There are many other musical opportunities that come up throughout the year for anyone interested. Abiding Savior has an excellent music staff, as well as the wonderful congregation members who participate in our music groups and with special music. Music is an integral part of our worship experience, and it is our hope that the music we present enhances your worship in a special way.
