FOR: All 3-year-olds (by September 1st) through 5th-graders WHEN: 10:05-10:55 a.m. (during the Education Hour), September through May - Families are invited to come early for our traditional worship service (9:00 AM) or to stay after Sunday School for our contemporary worship service (11:00AM).
Our new Sunday school year began on September 11th, and is off to a great start.
Sunday school for 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds and kindergarteners is held in separate classrooms and children have a music/worship time together each week.Their curriculum includes bible stories, activities and crafts.
1st-5th grade classes meet as one large group for:
•an opening/music time •a main session activity led by the week’s activity leader(s). This might be interactive storytelling, drama, science exploration, a cooking or food related activity, a game, an art or craft project, a presentation by someone whose experience relates to the story or theme we are studying, etc. •grade-level groups for candlelight devotion time with group guides. •closing with Patty
This group will not be using our current curriculum, but their bible stories will be the same as the younger children’s.The large group format is new this year, and promises to be an exciting new experiment, with the goal of recharging our Sunday school program and inspiring the children. We will hold special Family Sunday School sessions twice this year (October 16th and February 19th), which get all ages involved in exploring God's word and lessons together. The children also look forward to presenting our annual Christmas program during a 9:00 morning worship each December, as well as other opportunities to participate in worship services throughout the school year.
Registration forms are available in the church office, but you do not need to be registered to visit Sunday School - friends and guests are always welcome. You may also call (763-784-5120) or email patty@abidingsavior.org with any questions you have. We hope to see you soon!
