Meet Our Pastors
Associate Pastor Rev. Carol Sinykin I am filled with joy and excitement to be serving at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church. Being a second career pastor means I have a couple of decades of life experience before ordination. Included in those years was time in the laboratory (hospital and industry) and sharing the parenting of our three boys with my husband Stu. In 1981 I started working in the lab as a medical technologist at Fairview Hospital. A couple of years later,1983, we were blessed with the birth of our first child Daniel and then blessed again and again for each following years 1984 and 1985 with the birth of two more sons, Andrew and Alexander.
In 1991 life changed as I went to work for a company that manufactures test kits for hospitals. INCSTAR was a great company to work for but God was at work calling me to ministry. Finally in 1999, I started at Luther Seminary to find out where God was leading.
In all the years, God has been at work filling me with a passion to help others grow to know Christ. As I begin my ordained ministry here at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church my prayer is this: that called by the Holy Spirit, we are a family of believers that share the good news of Jesus and care for God's people.
Associate Pastor Rev. Elisa Richardson Pastor Lisa Richardson has been the Associate Pastor of Congregational Life and Outreach at Abiding Savior since August of 1998. She grew up in North Minneapolis, in the Camden area and New Brighton. She graduated from Irondale High School. She graduated from St. Olaf College in 1978 and received her Masters of Divinity from Luther Seminary in 1983. She was ordained on September 4, 1983. She spent her internship in Cresco, Iowa. Her first call was at Messiah Lutheran in Sioux Falls, SD. She served at St. Stephen Lutheran in Marshall, MN, and congregations in the Twin Cities -- Christ the King in New Brighton, University Church of Hope before coming to Abiding Savior. She is the mother of 4 children, Anna (24), Maria (21), Rebecca (19), and Andy (16). She enjoys being with family and people of all ages, being outside, speaking Norwegian, singing, playing guitar and hockey. Associate Pastor Rev. David Rogge I have worked in the area of youth and family ministry most of my career. I love helping people of all ages see the great love God has for each of us and for all of us. I like stories and questions and I believe the Bible is the book of questions God uses to engage us in conversation with God and each other, as we live the story of our lives. I sometimes write and use music in ministry to get the Truth's of God's love across. I think outside of the box and I encourage others to think in new ways. I am married to Sheryl, my high school sweet heart and we have 2 children and 4 grand children. My family teaches me and empowers me to love as we live life together. I am in recovery and I welcome conversations with others who may need serenity and sanity. |
